I'm going to try and keep this short because it's late, and people don't always like to read about bitching, well some do, I do, depends.
But today's topic, Nintendo TV ads on Australian TV. Now I'm by no means a Nintendo hater, I'm just not a huge fan either. I own their consoles because 3rd party devs put out interesting games on them, that's it. All Nintendo seem to do is rehash their IPs and release the same old trite, kinda like SEGA and Sonic, but let's not go there right now.
Back to the Ads though, I don't watch a huge amount of TV, kinda depends, but regardless I seem to see a lot of Nintendo ads in prime time for the DSi and other various shovel ware. Yes, I'm sorry, family sports games and tapping games are shoveltastic, also various exercise titles that will go unnamed are not games. Sorry, no, they aren't.
Also Nintendo, seriously, celebrity's to advertise the DSi, aren't we a bit passed that, it's not the 1990's. Oh and apparently the DSi is only good for taking pictures and making yourself look like a total twat, or recoding your voice and, sounding like a total prat. Don't show any titles for your system, wouldn't want to give people the wrong impression now, would we.
Then again, did we need the DSi, it's a more expensive DS with not much more. Do you need a camera in your DS, really, no really do you? That's right, you used it once. Yes, I derailed what I was talking about.
Also Microsoft and Sony, where are you're ads to combat all this? hmm.
