Sacred 2, Fallen Angel Indeed.

After spending the day formatting and installing various random programs for my PC, I managed to get Sacred 2 up and running. It doesn't look much different than on my laptop, however I can crank all the setting upto high, which is where the game really shines.

I really wish I had of picked this game up sooner, it really is a nice mix of Diablo gameplay and WoW like questing. My only issue is the perspective in the game, the camera is always fixed in a certain way behind you, I'd much rather it be like WoW where you can freely move it. It's not a massive issue, it just feels awkward at times.

Also I did manage to finally patch the game nearly to the current version. I got sick of downloading patches, though the version I'm running did crash my graphics diver in Vista so I might have to do the rest. The patching for this game is a major pain in the arse, mainly because of the different release version and that fact that main roll up patch doesn't even work for me which I just don't understand. So instead of downloading on big patch, I have to download, 4 large patches just to get it up to date. Good thing I don't really want to play it online.

However apart from a few things with the game, the large amount of quests and huge map give you plenty to do and explore. It does have some stupid boundary crap, like you can't run through a bush or some small hedge, you have to go around to blood things. The quests I've done so far have been pretty much the standard fair, though they do seem very MMORPGish. Things such as, kill X amount of whatever, escort quests and chain back and forth killing quests. Hopefully they become more varied later on.

Either way, for the budget price of the game it's a good time killer and seems decent enough if you are looking for an RPG while waiting for say Diablo 3 to be released. I just have a feeling there is going to be some deal killer with it for me and I'll stop playing it, I guess we'll see.
