Bordering On Things

Still splitting my time between Forza 3 and Borderlands. I'm still finding both enjoyable, but I've issues with Borderlands. It's a good FPS, I love the style of it and the way it plays for the most part. But I can't help but take issue with some of the design choices they made with the game. I don't mind that it's mission based as opposed to a storyline, but this leads to repetitive issues. The main thing I dislike is going through an area, then being sent back on a different mission, in the same area, now I wouldn't mind so much but having everything respawn is just tedious at times, and that is probably my biggest gripe with the game.

Respawns are fine, but you should be given an option to respawn an area, and if you have to go back to an area for a mission it shouldn't be the same slog it was the first time. It's probably more of way of giving the player some extra experience points to level up, but it's the one thing that's sort of ruined Borderlands for me, it just makes it feel at times like an artificial way to increase the game length. Other than that at least it's not ridiculously hard and you do get some decent loot at times from redoing an area. Also at least there are decent weapons, I never thought I'd play a game with almost too many weapons to choose from.

Forza 3 I'm still a little mixed on, it's a great racing game, but I keep wondering too myself how it will compare to something like Gran Turismo 5. While Forza 3 looks good and plays well, I just find that it feels more arcade than realistic. I really like the amount you can customise the look of cars in Forza, while I'm not that great at the whole paint thing because I find it a bit frustrating at times, what you can do with it is insane.
